Media, Cut, and Edit pages
The Media page is where footage can be prepared, synchronized, sorted into bins, and tagged with metadata before editing. The Cut page provides a source-tape view, dual timelines, and tools for quick edits, including multicamera work through the sync bin. For more detailed timeline work, the Edit page offers drag-and-drop editing, trimming tools, and a library of titles, transitions, and effects.
The Edit page also supports customizable keyboard shortcuts and keyframe editing for animating effects and titles.
Color and Fusion workspaces
Color grading takes place on the Color page. Primary controls adjust qualities such as contrast, temperature, and saturation; qualifiers and Power Windows can target parts of an image, while tracking follows selected areas through a shot. HDR grading tools and a node editor provide more involved ways to shape a look.
Fusion handles visual effects and motion graphics with a node-based workflow. Its tools include 2D and 3D compositing, camera tracking, rotoscoping, keying, and animated titles. Changes can be built into the Resolve project alongside the edit.
Fairlight and Deliver
Fairlight is the audio post-production workspace, with sample-accurate editing, EQ, dynamics processing, and effects such as reverb and de-essing. ADR and Foley tools support dialogue and sound-effect work, while the mixer handles stereo and surround formats.
On the Deliver page you set the encoding and line up several exports in a queue. Quick Export offers direct output for platforms such as YouTube and Vimeo.
