Keyframes and motion paths shape an animation
KoolMoves provides two approaches to HTML5 animation: keyframe-based animation with shape morphing, and page-based animation built with jQuery widgets. In a keyframe project, place elements on successive frames and the program can create intermediate motion between them.
Motion paths let stage elements travel along straight or curved routes. Position, transparency, scale, and rotation can also change over time. Sprite sheetsācollections of animation images arranged in a larger imageācan move along paths, with an option to orient sprites to the curve.
Drawing tools edit shapes and imported artwork
The drawing tools let you add, move, or remove points that define a shape, then scale, rotate, or slant selected shapes and points. Shapes can use color gradients or image fills. SVG vector clipart, including artwork with gradients, can be imported and edited.
Effects and actions add interaction
Apply customizable JavaScript or CSS effects and filters to text and other stage elements, or animate changes with ease-in and ease-out controls. Buttons and frames can have actions, supporting interactive animations and games. For custom behavior, KoolMoves includes a JavaScript scripting environment based on CreateJS, along with example libraries.
CreateJS objects can also work with the Box2dWeb physics engine to model gravity, collisions, friction, density, and bounciness.
Exports cover web, image, and video formats
HTML5 animations can be exported for responsive web designs, or embedded on a WordPress page through an iframe. KoolMoves also exports animated GIF, AVI/MP4, SVG, transparent PNG, and SWF. PhoneGap export supports packaging animations as mobile apps.
For slide shows, choose a simple JavaScript-based option or the Jssor slider, which offers transition choices. Legacy Flash animations can be converted to HTML5 or to animated GIF and AVI/MP4; ActionScript is excluded from HTML5 conversion.
