When a small control or detail is hard to see during a demonstration, ZoomIt Portable can enlarge that part of the screen and let you mark it for viewers. It also includes a countdown timer for presentation starts.
Zoom and LiveZoom
ZoomIt lets you magnify the desktop for a closer look at interface details or other on-screen content. Set the zoom level with the keyboard, then adjust it with the mouse wheel.
LiveZoom keeps the computer usable while the enlarged view is on screen. Standard Zoom is for showing a fixed view; use LiveZoom when the demonstration needs continued interaction.
Screen markup
Switch from zooming to drawing to point out a button, trace a path, or mark an area. Choose red, green, blue, or yellow for the brush. Keyboard shortcuts also provide straight lines, rectangles, and ellipses.
- Press T to type text directly on the screen.
- Use a white or black background for drawing instead of the desktop.
- Undo the last mark with Ctrl+Z or clear the annotations with E.
Countdown and controls
The countdown timer can be set to a chosen duration and positioned on screen. Its options also include a background image and a sound to play when time runs out.
Keyboard shortcuts control ZoomIt’s presentation features, and the shortcuts can be assigned to its functions. As a portable app, it can be carried on a USB drive for presentations or demonstrations on different computers.
