The explorer-style browser shows image folders and their contents, so browsing a collection starts with the folder structure. XnView MP can open common formats such as JPEG, PNG, TIFF, GIF, WebP, HEIC, AVIF, JPEG XL, PSD, and camera RAW files. It also supports DICOM images and PDF files.
Some formats have specific viewing behaviors: multi-page TIFF files can be browsed page by page, and animated PNG and WebP files can be viewed as animations. JPEG photos can be rotated or cropped without recompression, and EXIF/IPTC metadata can be edited.
Batch conversion and collection tools
