Need one file out of an ISO or VHD without mounting or restoring the whole thing? WinImage opens, edits and converts disk images and writes them to physical media. It also creates empty images and can extract selected files, so image contents are accessible without restoring an entire disk.
What can WinImage do with an image?
WinImage treats disk images as editable containers. Open an image to browse its files, extract selected items, add files and directories, or change the image format. It can also defragment images and create a new image from a removable drive, CD-ROM, or floppy disk.
It understands ISO and VHD images, FAT and NTFS volumes, old DMF floppy images, and Linux EXT2FS/EXT3FS file systems. VHD images support reading and writing; EXT2FS and EXT3FS images are read-only.
Image creation and physical media
For a new image, WinImage can create an empty disk image or capture an image from a physical drive. Existing images can be written back to a hard drive or other media.
- Add files and folders to an image, or pull selected files out.
- Convert images between supported formats.
- Use the Batch assistant to automate groups of operations.
Working with specialized image types
ISO images provide access to files stored in CD-ROM images, while VHD support covers virtual hard disks. WinImage can also work with FAT images and older DMF floppy images. Linux filesystem images can be browsed and extracted from, but their contents cannot be edited in WinImage.

- Opens DMF, VHD, ISO, FAT, NTFS, and Linux image formats
- Extracts individual files and injects files or folders
- Creates images from removable drives, CDs, and floppy disks
