GoodSync2Go for Windows

Carry your work on a USB stick between office and home and always worry which copy is newest? GoodSync2Go runs straight from the stick and syncs its folders with each computer you plug into. Note that Siber Systems discontinued it in 2021 and folded it into the regular GoodSync Personal.

How do you move files between disconnected computers?

Create a job between a folder on the portable drive and a folder on one computer, then synchronize them. After carrying the drive to another computer, run a job between the drive and that computer’s folder. This chained workflow passes changes along even when the computers cannot connect directly.

The program lives on the stick, needs no installation and no administrator rights on the computers you use it on.

Should a job back up one way or sync both ways?

Choose one-way synchronization for a backup job: changes from the source folder are sent to the destination. A two-way job carries changes made on either side to the other, which suits folders edited on multiple computers.

• Use one-way jobs when the destination is a backup copy.
• Use two-way jobs when both folders need to receive updates.

What happens to renamed or deleted files?

GoodSync tracks changes between runs, including deletions, so a deletion can propagate to the other folder during synchronization. That behavior matters when a portable drive carries a job between computers: a deleted file may also disappear from the next folder it reaches.

Is GoodSync2Go still available?

It was discontinued in 2021. Its features moved into the regular GoodSync Personal edition.

Can GoodSync2Go sync computers that are not online at the same time?

Yes. Sync the USB drive with one computer, carry it to the other, and sync again there.

Does the host computer need GoodSync2Go installed?

No. It runs from the USB drive without installation or admin rights.

Does it work on Windows Server?

No. Server systems need a separate GoodSync Server license.
