Browse and play network media
Screenbox can find and play media over a network, bringing shared content into the same player used for regular video playback. Its interface uses Fluent design, and it runs as a UWP app on top of the VLC playback engine (via LibVLCSharp).
Control playback with gestures and hotkeys
Gestures provide direct control over two common playback tasks: seek through a video and adjust its volume. The hotkey layout takes inspiration from YouTube, so keyboard controls follow a familiar style. Screenbox also assigns window-resizing shortcuts to the number-row keys 1 through 4.
Keep video visible or save a frame
Picture-in-picture puts playback in a separate, compact view that can stay visible while other windows are in use. When a moment in the video is worth keeping as a still image, Screenbox can save the current video frame as an image.
For viewing on a compatible display, Screenbox also supports Chromecast.
