Which video and audio formats can MPC-HC play?
MPC-HC supports a broad range of audio and video formats, from newer codecs such as H.265/HEVC, H.266/VVC and AV1 to AC4 audio. Its DirectShow playback architecture also allows third-party filters to extend how media is handled.
Files can be opened from the PC, a network share or a direct stream address with Open File/URL.
How does MPC-HC handle subtitles and seeking?
Load subtitles for a video, or use the subtitle search feature. Press D to start a manual search; automatic searching can be enabled in the subtitle options. WebVTT is supported, and subtitle rendering includes libass.
