Start by selecting the drive or removable device where the file was stored. Recuva looks for deleted pictures, office files, songs, videos and other file types, then presents the results in a list. A quick scan checks for recently deleted items; a deeper scan can search for files that the quick pass misses, though it takes longer.
The guided workflow asks for details such as the kind of file to find and where it was located. Advanced mode gives more direct access to scan results and file paths.
Read the recovery indicators and narrow results
A color marker next to each result indicates its recovery status: green signals a better chance, orange an uncertain one, and red a poor prospect. Filters can remove hidden or zero-byte files from the results, making it easier to focus on likely candidates.
