Wish the right-click menu in File Explorer did more? FileMenu Tools lets you add built-in file operations, define custom commands, edit the Send to submenu, and enable or disable commands added by other applications.
Context-menu commands
Choose which built-in commands appear for selected files and folders, and manage entries added by other applications. The separate Send to submenu can also be edited: add, remove, or change its destinations.
Custom commands can launch an external program, copy or move selected items to a chosen folder, rename or delete files, or send selected items as email attachments.
File and folder utilities
The built-in tools cover both routine organization and more specific operations. Advanced Renamer applies specified rules to selected items, while Sync Folders can run one-way or two-way synchronization and filter by file types.
- Find and Replace searches selected files for text and supports regular expressions.
- Extended Delete removes chosen file types from folders, with wildcard filters such as *.txt.
- Copy Path and Copy UNC Path put selected items’ locations on the clipboard.
- Split File and Join Files divide a file into parts and reassemble previously split parts.
- Calculate and Verify Checksum checks selected files for changes.
- Change Time edits creation, last-access, or last-modified timestamps, including recursively within folders.
More file actions
Other commands handle locked-file deletion, permanent deletion without sending items to the Recycle Bin, folder-size display, empty-folder cleanup, and changing folder icons. The clipboard tools can copy selected file content or folder item names, append clipboard text to a text file, or create a new file from clipboard text or images.
Image conversion can change the format or dimensions of selected images. It reads and writes BMP, JPEG, PNG, GIF and TIFF files. FileMenu Tools also offers commands to register or unregister DLL and OCX files, create symbolic links, and start a command prompt inside a chosen folder.
