How do the floor-plan views work?
DreamPlan offers 3D, 2D Blueprint, and 2D Rendered views. The 3D view shows the design as a navigable home model, while the two 2D modes present the layout as a plan. Blueprint and rendered views can display text, wall labels, room labels, and architectural symbols.
Create rooms with the built-in room shapes, then adjust walls and add doors or windows. Measurement tools show distances, areas, and dimensions, so the layout can be compared with the space being planned.
Can an existing floor plan become a 3D layout?
Trace Mode brings an image of a floor plan into the project to guide construction of the model. Build the walls and openings over the imported plan, then switch views to inspect the resulting layout. Sample home designs and floor plans are also available to open and edit.
What can be changed in a room or yard?
Furnish rooms with items such as cabinets, appliances, plumbing fixtures, and decorations. Change colors, materials, and textures on surfaces and furniture; imported images can serve as custom textures for areas such as walls or floors. Shadow display previews natural and artificial lighting effects.
For outdoor plans, add plants, shrubs, and flowers, reshape terrain, or lay out a deck, patio, garden, or pool. DreamPlan also imports 3D models in 3DS, STL, and PLY formats, which can add objects beyond the built-in library.
How can a finished design be shared?
Export a project as an image, a 3D model, or a web viewer for viewing in a browser. Image exports include JPG and PNG, and model exports include OBJ and STL. Screenshots can also be shared through Google Drive, OneDrive, or Flickr.
