Curious which Bluetooth devices are around you and when they come and go? NirSoft’s BluetoothView lists nearby devices with their name, address, type and signal strength, monitors that activity in the background and updates the list as devices appear.
The device list tracks detection details
Each row represents a detected device. Along with its name and Bluetooth address, the list can show major and minor device types, first and last detection times, and other details such as class of device and service classes. Signal strength is available for checking how strongly a device is being detected.
A description field lets you add a short label to a device. The list also supports sorting and options for resizing columns to fit their contents.
Alerts mark newly detected devices
BluetoothView can show a taskbar balloon or play a sound when it detects a new device. Advanced options can use a chosen audio file, speak custom text through Windows speech support, or run a command for a new detection. The main window can be hidden while monitoring continues, with alerts appearing from the notification area.
Logs and exports preserve activity
The activity log records a device arrival after it has been detected for five scans, and a device-leaving entry after it is absent for five scans. Advanced Options includes the log setting and a custom scan timeout; longer timeouts slow scanning but may improve detection of more distant devices.

Try a connection without keeping it open
The Try To Connect command tests a connection to a selected Bluetooth device, then closes it. The result appears in the Connection Result column; the device may need to accept the request for the test to succeed.
