The main window keeps configured services in a sidebar and displays the selected service in the workspace. Ferdium brings messaging and other services into one desktop app, with separate workspaces, a built-in Todo panel, and controls for notifications and service activity.
Services and multiple accounts
Add services to Ferdium so they remain available as individual entries in the sidebar. Selecting an entry switches the main view to that service, reducing the need to hunt through browser tabs or move between separate communication apps.
The same service can be added more than once, which lets you keep separate logins as distinct entries—for example, different accounts for work and personal use. Ferdium also supports custom services, so you can add a service that is not already available as a built-in choice.
How do Workspaces keep services organized?
Workspaces let you arrange services around a particular context, such as a project or the boundary between work and personal time. Switching workspaces changes which set of services stays in view, so the main sidebar can stay focused on the accounts relevant to the current task.
Ferdium also includes a Todo panel that can remain visible alongside a service. Use it to keep a task list in view while working in a messaging or other connected service, instead of switching away to find the list.
Sync, notifications, and service activity
Ferdium can be used without creating an account, and app data stays on the computer in that mode. Signing in enables cloud sync for services and workspaces across computers.
Service hibernation reduces activity from services that are not currently in use. Notification privacy settings can hide message details while still allowing alerts, which is useful when notifications appear on a shared or visible screen.
