How does BES limit a process?
BES displays the processes currently active on the computer. Select a process and set a relative CPU reduction for it. For example, if a process is using 60% of the CPU and BES applies a 20% reduction, its usage would be reduced to 40%.
The control applies to the selected process, so BES can target a background job or another specific task that is consuming processor time. It does not require you to close that process to change its CPU use.
How many processes can BES control at once?
BES can apply limits to up to three processes simultaneously. Choose the processes whose CPU use needs to be reduced, then set a limit for each within that cap.
What should you do before closing BES?
BES recommends reversing any process changes before you exit. Restoring the original settings avoids leaving a modified process in an unexpected state after the controller is closed.
