How do NanaZip’s Explorer commands work?
NanaZip adds archive actions to the Windows 10 and 11 File Explorer context menu. Select files or folders to create an archive, or right-click an archive to extract its contents. File associations let supported archives open in NanaZip when opened from Explorer.
For extraction, Smart Extraction chooses an appropriate destination based on the archive contents. A setting can open the destination folder automatically once unpacking finishes.
Which archive formats and codecs does it handle?
NanaZip inherits archive features from 7-Zip and adds codecs from the 7-Zip ZS project. Along with familiar 7z and ZIP archives, it supports formats and codecs including Brotli, LZ4, Lizard, and Zstandard. The available operations depend on the format: some codecs support both compression and extraction, while some file types are read-only.
It can also open certain specialized files, including Electron ASAR archives and UFS/UFS2 and ROMFS file-system images. These are read-only formats in NanaZip, so they can be inspected or extracted where supported, but not created as archives.
What changes in the NanaZip interface?
The graphical interface supports dark mode across its components, and the main window can use the Mica effect. NanaZip also adapts its interface to per-monitor DPI settings.
For file verification, NanaZip includes a broad selection of hash algorithms, including MD5, SHA-256, SHA-512, SHA-3, and BLAKE2b. Hashing lets you compare a file’s calculated value with a trusted value to check whether the contents match.
