AlomWare Reset for Windows

PC feeling sluggish but no time for a full reboot? AlomWare Reset handles several tasks normally associated with restarting a PC, without performing a traditional Windows reboot.

Run the reset routine

When you confirm a reset, AlomWare Reset closes open applications and ends active processes. It also empties the clipboard, clears the recent-documents list, and frees memory. These actions give the session a cleanup similar to some parts of a restart, while leaving out the wait for Windows to shut down and boot again.

The confirmation message appears before the cleanup begins. Save changes in documents and other open files first: closing their applications can discard edits that have not been saved.

Choose when to clear the session

After the cleanup it relaunches your startup programs that are not already running, turns NumLock on and wakes sleeping drives. Optional steps can also empty the Recycle Bin and clear junk from the Temp folders. A separate snapshot feature remembers every app and window that is running, so programs started afterwards can be closed automatically by restoring the snapshot.

Will I lose open documents?

Unsaved changes can be lost because their programs are closed, so save your work first. A confirmation prompt appears before the reset starts.

What is the snapshot feature for?

It records the apps and windows running at a given moment; restoring the snapshot later closes anything you opened in between.
