Remember internet suites like SeaMonkey that did everything in one program? BriskBard, a free Windows app by Spanish developer Salvador Díaz Fau, combines a Chromium-based web browser, email, a news and RSS reader, IRC chat, contacts and a media player in one tabbed window.
Which online tools are included?
BriskBard combines a web browser with an email manager, a news reader, IRC-based chat, and a contact manager. That puts common browsing and communication tasks within reach from one application.
The browser uses the Chromium engine through CEF, so modern websites display correctly, and the email module works with standard POP3, IMAP and SMTP accounts. IRC chat provides a place to communicate with contacts through IRC-based messaging.
How do tabs organize browsing and communication?
The tab system keeps different activities available at the same time. Move between open web pages and BriskBard’s other tools without closing one task to switch to another.
- Keep several web pages open while working in another module.
- Switch between browsing, email, news, and IRC chat from the tabbed workspace.
Can BriskBard play media too?
Yes. BriskBard includes playback for multimedia content from a digital library, alongside its browser and communication features. Because it is a one-person project, updates arrive less often than for major browsers.
